Suffolk County Vital Records Information and Resources
The Suffolk County Clerk's Office is not responsible for maintaining birth, marriage or death records. The maintenance of vital records is a function of the town clerks or registrars.
Town of Babylon - The Town Clerk is the Registrar of Vital Statistics and maintains all birth and death records and files burial permits for cemeteries.
Town of Brookhaven - The Brookhaven Town Clerk issues and maintains birth and death certificates. Incorporated villages in the area have their own clerk and vital records office. There is a $10 fee for certified copies. Birth records may be requested by the person name on the record. Death records may be requested by the immediate family or when documented by a legal or medical need. Marriage records are on file in the town office and in Albany.

New York State Department of Health - Information on obtaining certificates for births and deaths that took place in the state outside of New York City and includes marriage licenses and divorce records for the state. Divorce records date back to 1963. Uncertified copies are available for genealogy research.
